 Danger

Risk of explosion caused by escaping hydrogen or overheating of the fuel tanks when working on the hydrogen system. Risk of frostbite to body parts caused by escaping gas and by touching component parts carrying gas when emptying fuel tanks. Risk of asphyxiation caused by inhalation of air diluted by hydrogen. Risk of burn injuries by coming into contact with an invisible pale blue hydrogen flame.

Print out "tank system, fuel cell, form event log," fill out, and attach to the vehicle somewhere clearly visible.



Remove front engine compartment lining.

Loosen front left fender liner in area of bumper.

Check

Spray pressure line connections on rear axle electronic level control system valve unit (Y36/8) with leak detection spray.

 Use commercially available leak detector spray.

Spray pressure line connections on AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) with leak detection spray.

 Use commercially available leak detector spray.

Spray pressure line connections on air spring (4) with leak detection spray.

 Use commercially available leak detector spray.

Spray leak detection spray onto area around dust boots at top and bottom on air spring (4) at right and left.

 Use commercially available leak detector spray.

Check sprayed areas for leak tightness.

 Wait approx. 10 to 15 min after spraying.
This allows smaller leaks to be detected (bubbles form). Larger leaks are visible immediately.

If leaks are present.



Replace or repair corresponding components.
