Remove/install the suspension strut

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under tension

Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).

Remove wheel

Detach brake hose and line of brake lining wear indicator from the brackets of the suspension strut (1)

Disconnect connector of rpm sensor.

On vehicles with ABS

 Disconnect cable from the bracket of the suspension strut and the body

Unscrew nut (6) of the torque strut (5) of the stabilizer bar



Remove air inlet.

On left front wheel suspension.

Unscrew fixing nut (2) of suspension strut to the body under the hood.

Use a box-end wrench to apply counterpressure to the shock absorber insert to prevent it from twisting when the nut is being loosened and tightened.



Unscrew mounting screws (3) and (4) of suspension strut to steering knuckle.



Remove suspension strut (1)

 Detach assembly judiciously and put to one side.

Install in the reverse order.



Checking

Check and adjust wheel camber and caster
