Danger! | Risk of injury to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid. | Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. | |
1 | Switch off hydraulic lowering system | The hydraulic lowering system must be switched off otherwise when the hydraulic system is opened the hydraulic fluid would escape under high pressure. | |
2 | Turn key in ignition lock into position 1 | ||
3 | Detach shock-absorber strut (3) from cab floor | ||
4 | Raise vehicle at the front | Until access to the shock-absorber strut (3) is guaranteed. | |
5 | Provide suitable receptacle under the shock-absorber strut (3) | ||
6 | Detach oil pressure line (1) and | Dispose of hydraulic fluid which has escaped in a manner friendly to the environment. | |
7 | Seal openings of the oil pressure line (1), oil return line (2) and shock-absorber strut (3) with stop plugs | | |
8 | Detach shock-absorber strut (3) from steering knuckle (4) | ||
9 | Detach lower rubber mount (5) from the piston rod of the shock-absorber strut (3) | ||

10 | Check oil pressure line (1) and | ||
11 | Check bottom and top rubber mount (5, 6) for damage and replace if necessary | ||
12 | Check shock-absorber strut (3) and replace if necessary | ||

| Tool for pulling out the piston rod of the shock-absorber strut | ||
14 | Mount bottom rubber mount (5) on the piston rod of the shock-absorber strut (3) | ||
15 | Install shock-absorber strut (3) on cab floor | Only tighten the nut when the shock-absorber strut (3) is bolted to the steering knuckle (4). | |
16 | Install shock-absorber strut (3) on steering knuckle (4) | Replace self-locking screws. | |

17 | Bolt shock-absorber strut (3) to cab floor | | |
18 | Install oil pressure line (1) and | Replace mounting clamps of oil return line (2). | |

20 | Check/correct oil level in hydraulic lowering system | ||
