Disassemble/assemble

Remove suspension strut (1).

Clamp tensioning device in the vise and insert clamping plates.

Insert suspension strut (1) into tensioning device.

  Attach clamping plates so that at least three windings of the spring (3) are tensioned.

Tension spring (3).

 Removal: Until upper spring seat (7) is relieved.

Unscrew the nut (9).

 Counterhold piston rod of suspension strut(1).

 Commercially available devices/tools
Box wrench bit bent, 21 mm

 Nut, suspension strut mount to suspension strut

Remove suspension strut mount (8).

 Installation: Ensure that the suspension strut mount (8) is seated correctly.

Remove spring seat (7).

 Installation: Ensure that the spring seat (7) is seated correctly.

Remove spring seat (6).

 Installation: Ensure that the spring seat (6) is seated correctly.

Remove boot (4).

 Installation: Ensure correct seating of the boot(4).

Remove end stop (5).

 Installation: Ensure that the end stop (5) is seated correctly.

Remove shock absorber (2).

 Installation: Ensure that the spring (3) and the protective mat (10) are seated correctly in the spring retainer (11).

Release tensioning device and remove spring (3).



Check

Check shock absorber (2).

If the shock absorber (2) has a complaint.



Replace shock absorber (2).

If the shock absorber (2) is replaced.



Properly dispose of the shock absorber (2) with complaint.

If the shock absorber (2) is reused.



Clean spring retainer (11).

Check remaining components of suspension strut (1).

If corresponding findings are present,



replace affected components.

 Replace spring (3) for each axle.

If components are reused.



Clean corresponding component.
