1 | Release trailer hitch | ||
2 | Remove trunk recess cover | ||
3 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m) | ||
4 | Disconnect electrical connection (2) | ||
5 | Expose and disconnect electrical connector (3) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) |

6 | Remove rear bumper | ||
7 | Release grommet (4) from rear center section and route wiring harness (1) outwards through the opening | ||
8 | Disconnect electrical connection (5) from release for trailer hitch (A63) | ||
9 | Remove trailer socket (X58) | ||
10 | Expose wiring harness (1) and remove | ||
11 | Install in the reverse order | ||

12 | Perform function check of fully-electric trailer hitch | ||
