Unscrew brown line (3b) from trailer hitch ground point (W7/9)

Detach green connector (2s) from green connector (2k)

Detach black, 24-pin connector (28.3) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1)

Remove clamps (20k) from trailer hitch wiring harness (20)

Detach cable ties along the trailer hitch wiring harness (20) and expose trailer hitch wiring harness (20)

Installation: The trailer hitch wiring harness (20) must be routed free of any chaffing and fixed in place using new cable ties.

Detach electrical connection (3) from 7-pin trailer socket (X58/11)

Detach trailer hitch wiring harness (20) from cross member (1)

Installation: Ensure trailer hitch wiring harness (20) is routed without any chaffing.

Detach rubber grommet (2) from body

Installation:
Check rubber grommet is firmly seated in place.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

Route trailer hitch wiring harness (20) with rubber grommet (2) through opening in body

Install in the reverse order

Check

Perform function test of light signals at trailer hitch socket
