Remove rear bumper

Unscrew bolts (13) and remove plate (12) from crossmember (3)

 Trailer coupling with rigid ball
neck only.

Installation: Use new bolts (13).

 Bolt, attachment of rigid ball neck

Remove rigid ball neck (15) from crossmember (3)

 Trailer coupling with rigid ball
neck only.

Remove paneling on left and right in trunk

Remove rear muffler

Remove shield above rear muffler

Unscrew trailer hitch socket (X58) from crossmember (3)

 3 sheet metal bolts, allow socket (X58) to hang down at cable harness.

Unscrew micro-encapsulated bolts (4) 2 bolts on both left and right, out of crossmember (3) and remove crossmember.

 Support crossmember.

Installation: Use new bolts.

 Bolt, crossmember to vehicle

Unscrew self-locking nuts (6) of vehicle longitudinal member, 2 nuts on left and right, in the side compartments

Installation: use new nuts (6).

 Nut to counter tab

Remove bolts (5) with washers and remove side member reinforcements (2, 12) from longitudinal member

Installation: The side member reinforcements are labeled with "L" and "R" for the left and right side.

Reinstall in opposite order.

 Tighten bolts (4) and nuts (6) finger-tight, align trailer coupling and then tighten with specified torque.
