Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Perform commissioning of transfer case control unit (N45) using vehicle diagnosis system.

If the transfer case control unit (N45) is replaced.



Put transmission into neutral position.

Disconnect ground line on battery.

Lift vehicle with lifting platform.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) of transfer case control unit (N45).

Unscrew bolts (3).

 Bolt, transfer case control unit to transfer case

Remove transfer case control unit (N45) downwards.

 Installation:
The guides of the transfer case control unit (N45) must engage in the groove in the transfer case (1).
Damage will otherwise occur.

 Installation: Replace O-rings.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run; while doing so, check transfer case (1) for proper operation and leak tightness.
