Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

Remove

Remove transfer case.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (2).


Do not damage seat of radial shaft sealing ring (2) in transfer case.
Leakage will otherwise occur.

 Removal and installation tool

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (2) for damage and galling.

If damage or galling is present.



Replace transfer case.



Install

Lubricate sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring(2) with transmission oil.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.15)

 Replace radial shaft sealing ring (2).

Insert guide(1) into housing.

 Drift

Place radial shaft sealing ring(2) on drift(4).

 Drift

Press in radial shaft sealing ring(2) using drift(4) until the drift(4) makes contact on the housing.

Remove guide(1) from housing.

 Drift

Install transfer case.
