Remove

Remove propeller shaft.

 Installation: Only install underfloor paneling after the leak test.

Remove output flange.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).


Do not damage seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) in transfer case.
Leakage will otherwise occur.

 Removal and installation tool

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) for damage and galling.

If damage or galling is present.



Replace transfer case.

Install

Moisten sealing lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (1) with transmission oil.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.15)

Press in radial shaft sealing ring(1) using drift(2) until the drift(2) makes contact with the transfer case.

 Replace radial shaft sealing ring (1).
