Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

Remove

1

Remove transfer case.

Remove centrifugal separator (3).

 Extraction hook

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (2).


Do not damage seat of radial shaft sealing ring (2) in transfer case.
Leakage will otherwise occur.

 Removal and installation tool

Remove clamp (8).

Remove sealing boot (4).



Check

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (2) for damage and galling.

If damage or galling is present,



replace transfer case.



Install

Mount guide(1) onto drive shaft.

Moisten sealing lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (2) with transmission oil.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.15)

Position radial shaft sealing ring(2) in opening.

Press in radial shaft sealing ring(2) with drift(6) until the drift(6) makes contact with the housing.

Remove guide(1).

Place protective sleeve (5) on output shaft.

 Drift

Attach new centrifugal separator (3) to new sealing boot (4).

Moisten inner sealing boot (4) using transmission oil.



Slip sealing boot (4) with centrifugal separator (3) onto protective sleeve (5).

Press in centrifugal separator (3) using drift (7) until drift (7) makes contact with housing.

 Drift

Remove drift (7) and protective sleeve (5) from transfer case.

18

Attach new clamp (8) to sealing boot (4).
