Insert main- and countershaft with shift unit in support fixture

Check sleeves (19, 20) of support fixture (11),  change if necessary.

 Different sleeves (19, 20) need to be used depending on the transmission model. The relevant transmission drawings are specified on the sleeves (19, 20).

 Clamp support fixture (11) in vise.

Release fastening device (21) and slide support slides (17, 18) outward as far as end stop.

Insert main shaft (7) and countershaft (14)  into the support fixture.

Slide support slide (17) inward as far as end stop and lock with fastening device (21).

 The oil guide ring of the countershaft (14) must sit between the reverse gear idler gear (23) and the 1st gear idler gear (25). The synchronizer ring, cone ring, friction ring and clutch body (arrow) must be above the constant-mesh gear (24).

Slide shift forks (9, 10) onto guide shaft on the shift fork (8).

Insert shift forks (8, 9, 10) with the guide shaft in the support fixture. 

Slide support slide (18) inward as far as end stop.

 When doing so, raise the claws of the shift forks (8, 9, 10) and uniformly insert into the sliding sleeves (arrows in left figure).

Install shift fork (12).

 The claw of the shift fork (12) must engage in the sliding sleeve (arrow in right figure).

Shift all shift forks into neutral position.

 The notches in the shift forks (arrow) must be level so that the shift shaft can be installed later.
