1 Hammer countershaft with deep-groove ball bearing flat in the transmission housing by applying light blows with a synthetic head hammer.
2 Measure dimension "c" between the end face of the outer bearing race and the joint face of the transmission housing using a caliper depth gauge.
3 Enter dimension determined in the table.

4 Measure dimension "d" between the sealing surface of the front transmission cover and turned groove using a caliper depth gauge.
The sealing washer must be put on for this measurement process.
5 Enter dimension determined in the table.
6 The thickness of the shims required for the adjustment is determined as follows:
Shims are available in thicknesses of 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm.
Calculation example:
Dimension ”d” 5.8 mm
Dimension ”c” 5.1 mm
Difference 0.7 mm
Clearance 0.1 mm
Shim 0.6 mm
7 Insert shims in front transmission cover and stick on with grease.
