Remove/install

Extract brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir (1), until level is just below feed line (2).

 Use commercially available tools.

Detach feed line (2) from brake fluid reservoir (1) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.

 Collect discharged brake fluid in a suitable container.

 Installation: Make sure that the sealing ring is seated correctly.

Remove retainer (arrow).

 Installation: Make sure that the retainer (arrow) is seated correctly.

Remove pressure line (3) from clutch master cylinder (6) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.

 Collect discharged brake fluid in a suitable container.

Release clutch pedal switch (S40/3), rotate through 90° and remove upwards.

Release clutch pedal switch (S40/6), rotate through 90° and remove upwards.

Remove retaining washer (7).

 Installation: Make sure that the push rod (9) is installed at the correct position.

Remove bolts (8).

Remove holder (10).

Remove clutch master cylinder (6) with feed line (2).

Check grommets (4, 5) for damage.

 Installation: Make sure that the grommets (4, 5) are seated correctly.

If grommets (4, 5) are damaged,



replace grommets (4, 5).

Remove feed line (2) from clutch master cylinder (6).

When replacing clutch master cylinder (6).

Install in the reverse order.

Bleed clutch operating system.
