Removing

Remove rear underbody paneling

Pull out the spreader pin on the clip (1) and remove the belt cover (2)

Remove alternator cover

Model 450.3 up to 14.11.99

Remove bolts (3) of the belt pulley (4)

Loosen alternator bolt (6) on the assembly carrier and alternator nut (7) on the bracket (8)

 Do not release the poly-V belt (9) when the engine is hot.

 Box wrench

Detach belt pulley (4) from the water pump flange (5)



Install

Slide the belt pulley (4) on to the water pump flange (5) and screw in bolts (3)

Tension poly-V belt (9)

 See: 

Remove/install poly-V belt (9)

Tighten bolts (3) of the belt pulley (4)

Install belt cover (2) and attach with clips (1)
