Remove/install

Remove left cover (1)

Remove engine cover

 Installation: Ensure correct seating of the engine cover.

Remove left engine air intake duct upstream of air filter

Remove charge air cooler

Detach refrigerant line (2) at oil filter housing (3)

Remove screws/bolts (4a) and remove bracket (4) for charge air cooler

 Bolt, bracket for charge air cooler to crankcase

Detach guide pulley (5)

 Installation: Replace the O-ring underneath.

Disconnect the electrical connection (6) on the fuel pressure sensor

Unscrew cover (7) on oil filter housing (3)

 Slowly unscrew cap (7) on oil filter housing (3) so that engine oil can run out into oil pan.

Unclip engine wiring harness (8)

 Lift engine wiring harness (8) in the front area until the bracket (9) is accessible.

Remove bracket (9)

 Bracket to oil filter housing/cylinder head cover

Remove screw/bolts (4b)

Remove oil filter housing (3)

 Installation: Replace seal.

Install in the reverse order

Check engine oil level; correct if necessary

The vehicle must be horizontal and standing on its wheels.
This prevents any measurement errors.

 Check engine oil level about 5 min. after switching off warm engine.
