Remove engine cover

 Installation: Ensure correct seating of the engine cover.

Detach diesel injection system control unit and place to one side with attached lines

Detach vacuum line (1) from vacuum pump (2) and place to one side

Unclip engine wiring harness (3)

 Lift engine wiring harness (3) in the front area until the bracket (4) is accessible.
If necessary, replace cable ties.

Unclip electrical connection (9) from bracket (4)

Remove screw/bolts (5, 6, 7)

remove screw/bolt (8)

 Installation: Fasten the bracket (10) for the exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve (Y85) with the screw/bolt (8) correctly.

 Screw/bolt, glow output stage to bracket

Remove bracket (4)

Disconnect electrical connections at glow output stage (N143)

 Slightly take out glow output stage (N14/3) to the front.

Remove glow output stage (N14/3)

Install in the reverse order

Perform function test

Connect diagnostic system, read out fault memory and delete if necessary


