Disconnect/connect engine wiring harness to remove cylinder head cover

Release and disconnect electrical connection (10) on coolant thermostat.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (11) on fuel pressure sensor.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (12) on quantity control valve and expose electrical line.

 Installation: Ensure electrical line is routed correctly. Replace cable tie.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (13) on fuel temperature sensor.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (14) on alternator and expose electrical line.

 Installation: Ensure electrical line is routed correctly. Replace cable tie.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (15) on boost pressure positioner.

7

Release and disconnect electrical connection (24) from vent line heater element.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (16) on hot film MAF sensor.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (25) of temperature sensor upstream of ATL and expose electrical line.

 Installation: Ensure electrical line is routed correctly. Replace cable tie.

Remove screw/bolt (26) from cylinder head and place electrical line of glow output stage to one side.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (18) on rpm sensor.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (19) on pressure regulating valve.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (20) on intake manifold pressure sensor.

Release and disconnect electrical connection (21) on exhaust gas recirculation positioner.

15

Release and disconnect electrical connections from glow plug with  pliers.

16

Unclip wiring harness (1) from holder on charge air distributor.

17

Remove screws/bolts (22, 23).

Unclip cable duct (1a) from cylinder head cover and from rail.

19

Remove wiring harness (1) and cable duct (1a) from working area and fix in place in engine compartment with cable ties.

20

Connect in reverse order.
