Remove

Remove intake manifold (1)

Disconnect electrical connection (2)

Mark installation position of knock sensor (A16)

Remove screw/bolt (3) and remove knock sensor (A16) from crankcase



Install

Transfer marking of the installation position to the new part

When installing new a knock sensor (A16).

Lay knock sensor (A16) on the crankcase and tighten with screw/bolt (3)

 The contact surface between the crankcase and the knock sensor (A16) must be clean and flat.
Observe the marking for the installation position.

Connect electrical connector (2)

Install intake manifold (1)

Connect diagnostic unit, read out fault memory

When installing new a knock sensor (A16).


