Raise vehicle.

Disconnect electrical connector (1).

Remove electrical wiring harness of NOx sensor 2 downstream of the SCR catalytic converter (B29/1).

 Installation: Check retaining clamps (2).

Depending on the findings,



Replace retaining clamp (2).

Remove NOx sensor 2 downstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29/1).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

Clean

Clean thread and sealing surfaces for NOx sensor 2 downstream of the SCR catalytic converter (B29/1) in the exhaust system.

Install in the reverse order.

Read out the fault memory using the diagnostic unit.

If new NOx sensor control unit downstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/2) was installed.



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory

If existing faults are shown:



Erase the fault memory.

Perform initialization of NOx sensor control unit downstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/2) with diagnostic device.

If new NOx sensor control unit downstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/2) was installed.

Disconnect diagnostic unit.

If new NOx sensor control unit downstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/2) was installed.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
