Remove engine charge air duct downstream of air filter on air intake pipe of the turbocharger

Remove charge air hose upstream of charge air cooler on turbocharger

Remove screw/bolt (1)

Remove bracket (2)

 To do this, remove screws/bolts (3).

 Screw/bolt, differential pressure sensor bracket to cylinder head

Remove turbocharger from exhaust manifold (10)

 Remove alternator completely, turbocharger not complete. The exhaust manifold (10) must be acceptable, lay turbocharger outside the working area.

Remove heat shield (4)

 To do this, remove screw/bolts (5).

 Screw/bolt, heat shield to exhaust manifold

 Screw/bolt, heat shield to exhaust manifold

Remove heat shield (8)

 To do this, remove screw/bolts (17).

 Bolt, starter heat shield to bracket

Remove exhaust pipe (7) on exhaust manifold (10)

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation line to exhaust manifold

Remove exhaust temperature sensor at exhaust manifold (10)

 Remove temperature sensor from exhaust manifold (10) and place to one side; do not disconnect electrical connection.

Unscrew nuts for the exhaust manifold (10)

Remove exhaust manifold (10)

 Installation: Replace seal.



Check stud bolts in cylinder head for firm seating
