| Remove | ||
1 | Remove catalytic converter | ||
2 | Remove securing clamp (2) | ||
3 | Remove control rod (3) from exhaust manifold (1) | ||
4 | Unfasten clamp (4) and take off | ||
5 | Unscrew nuts (5) | ||
6 | Remove exhaust manifold (1) | Hold ATL (6) somewhat to the side. | |
7 | Remove seal (7) | Replace seal (7). | |
| Clean | ||
8 | Clean sealing surface on exhaust manifold (1) | When reusing the exhaust manifold (1). | |
9 | Clean sealing surface on cylinder head | ||
| Install | ||
10 | Lay new seal (7) on cylinder head | ||
11 | Hold ATL (6) somewhat to the side and attach exhaust manifold (1) with nuts (5) to the cylinder head | Screw on nuts (5) evenly up to the stop. | |
12 | Tighten nuts (5) | Nut, exhaust manifold to cylinder head | |
13 | Install clamp (4) and tighten down | ||
14 | Attach control rod (3) to exhaust manifold (1) | ||
15 | Install new safety clip (2) | ||
16 | Install catalytic converter | ||
Only install covering over engine after the leak test. | |||

Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. | |
17 | Perform an engine test run and check exhaust system in the area of the exhaust manifold (1) for leaktightness |
