Remove/install

Remove noise damper in front of charge air cooler.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after engine test run.

Release tensioning device (3) and remove poly-V-belt (4) from tensioner pulley.

Remove cover of center guide pulley (1).

 Installation: The cover must tangibly engage.

Remove screw of center guide pulley (1).

 Screw/bolt, guide pulley to timing case cover

Remove center guide pulley (1).



Check

Check center guide pulley (1) for damage and wear.

If there is a problem,



Replace center guide pulley (1).

Check poly-V-belt (4) at visible locations for wear and damage.





Replace the poly-V belt (4).

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check for correct running of poly-V-belt (4).
