Remove/install

Remove noise damper upstream of charge air cooler.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after engine test run.

Release tension on clamping device (3) and remove poly-V-belt (4) from tensioner pulley.

Remove cover of right guide pulley (2).

 Installation: The cover must engage noticeably.

Remove screw of right guide pulley (2).

 Screw/bolt, guide pulley to timing case cover

Remove right guide pulley (2).

Check

Check right guide pulley (2) for damage and wear.

If there is a problem,



Replace right guide pulley (2).

Check visible areas of poly-V-belt (4) for wear and damage.





Replace the poly-V belt (4).

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check that poly-V-belt (4) is running correctly.
