| Remove/install | ||
1 | Disconnect the electrical connectors from the hot film mass air flow sensor (3) and the intake manifold pressure sensor. | ||
2 | Remove air intake pipe from hot film mass air flow sensor (3). | To do so, release the clamp on the hot film mass air flow sensor (3). | |
Installation: Check clamp for damage. | |||

Depending on the findings, | |||

Replace damaged clamp. | |||
3 | Remove the filler pipe (5) from the air filter housing (1). | ||
4 | Remove jump start connector (7) from air filter housing (1). | ||
5 | Remove air duct (6) from front module (2). | ||
6 | Pull front air filter housing (1) upwards out of front module (2). | Installation: Make sure that air filter housing (1) is seated correctly in mounts on front module (2) and air duct (6) in intake air fitting. | |
Installation: Check rubber mounts in front module (2). | |||
Depending on the findings, | |||
| |||
Replace rubber mounts. | |||
7 | Remove air filter housing(1). | To do this remove air filter housing (1) forwards from rear mounts (4). | |
Installation: Make sure air filter housing (1) is seated correctly in rear mounts (4). | |||
8 | Install in the reverse order. | ||

Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. | |
9 | Check for leaktightness when engine is running. | Visual inspection only. |
