	Remove
1	Remove air intake pipe from hot film mass air flow sensor.	 To do so, release the clamp from the hot film mass air flow sensor.
2	Remove bolts (1).
3	Place air filter housing upper part (2) to the right-hand side	 Carefully place air filter housing upper part (2) to one side This prevents damage to the electrical connectors.
4	Remove air filter (3).
	Check
5	Check air filter (3).	Depending on the findings,
		
		Replace air filter (3).
6	Check air filter housing upper section (2) and air filter housing lower section for soiling.	Depending on the findings,
		
		Clean upper section of air filter housing (2) and/or lower section of air filter housing.
	Install
7	Install air filter (3).	 Ensure correct fit at the sealing surfaces.
8	Install air filter housing upper section (2).	 Ensure correct seating of upper section of air filter housing (2) in rear guides.
9	Screw in screws/bolts (1) .
10	Attach air intake pipe to hot film mass air flow sensor.	 To do so, attach the clamp to the hot film mass air flow sensor.
		 Check clamp for damage.
		 Clamp, air intake pipe to hot film mass air flow sensor	*BA09.10-N-1002-01TS
		Depending on the findings,
		
		Replace damaged clamp.
	Check
 Warning	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11	Check for leaktightness when engine is running.	 Visual inspection only.
12	Confirm replacement of air filter (3) in maintenance booklet or in the Digital Service Booklet (DSB).	When replacing air filter (3).
