Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling.

Release and disconnect the electrical connector (2).

Remove screw (3) .

Pull park pawl sensor (1) out of axle drive module (5) and remove.



Transmission oils (specification 236.24)

 Installation: Coat O-ring (4) of park pawl sensor (1) with transmission oil.



Check

Check O-ring (4) of park pawl sensor (1) for damage.

If damage is detected



Replace park pawl sensor (1).

Install in the reverse order.

Perform teach-in routine for park pawl sensor (1) with diagnostic device.

When replacing park pawl sensor (1).


