Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4) of low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor (B157/2) and remove electrical connector with retaining clip (2) from bracket.

 Dismantling tool

Unclip electric line (1) at cable duct (3).

 Installation: Ensure electrical line (1) is routed correctly.

Remove low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor (B157/2).

Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20

Seal opening of exhaust gas recirculation with suitable stop plug.

 Record plug

Install in the reverse order.

Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory and clear if necessary.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run; in this connection check exhaust gas recirculation for leaks.
