Differential pressure sensor (DPF)

 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Remove crash plate (7) on heat shield (8).

Release and disconnect electrical connection (3).

Remove heat shield (8).

Open clamps (5) and remove molded hoses (4) from pressure lines.


Only remove the clamps (5) from the molded hoses (4) on pressure lines.
To do this loosen clamps on the DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8) can cause hairline cracks to form at the DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8) as well as malfunctioning.

 Installation: Install molded hoses (4) free of tension.
Replace clamps (5).

Unscrew nuts (6) and remove bracket (2).

When replacing DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8).

 Nut, differential pressure sensor for diesel particulate filter to bracket

Install in the reverse order.

Read out and delete fault memory.



Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
