Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure

Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

Remove/install

Remove charge air cooler.

Release and disconnect the electrical connector (2).

Remove screw/bolts (3).

 Bolt, quantity control valve to high-pressure pump

Remove quantity control valve (1) from high-pressure pump (4).


Pull quantity control valve (1) out of the housing flange using turning movements and do not tilt.
Prevent damage.

 Collect escaping fuel.

 Installation: Install new quantity control valve (1) and sealing rings. Lightly grease sealing rings.

Clean

Clean flanged bore and sealing surface on high-pressure pump (4).


Remove paint and dirt particles.
To do this malfunctions and damages can be avoided.

Cold degreasing agent/cold cleaning solvent HAKU 1025-920

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and check high-pressure pump (4) for leaks in area of quantity control valve (1).

 Visual inspection only.

Switch off engine.
