Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

Remove/install

Remove throttle valve actuator

Remove mounting plate (1)

 To do this, remove screws/bolts (2) and exhaust gas recirculation cooling solenoid valve (Y27/16).

 Screw/bolt, charge air pipe mounting plate to engine support

Disconnect electrical connection (3)

Remove the quantity control valve (Y94/3)


Pull quantity control valve (Y94/3) out of the housing flange using turning movements and do not tilt.
Prevent damage.

 For this purpose, remove screw/bolts (4). Collect escaping fuel.

 Installation: Replace quantity control valve (Y94/3) and sealing rings. Lightly grease sealing rings.

Clean

Clean flanged bore and sealing surface on high-pressure pump


Remove paint and dirt particles.
To do this malfunctions and damages can be avoided.

Cold degreasing agent/cold cleaning solvent HAKU 1025-920

Install in the reverse order



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
