Remove/install

Remove cylinder head (1).

Remove all glow plugs.

Attach the cylinder head (1) to the assembly device (01).

 Follow the operating instructions for the   assembly device manufacturer(01).

Put together valve assembly tools and attach to the assembly device (01).

  Position thrust piece (04) vertically on the upper valve spring retainer (2).

Move the air bellows of the assembly device (01) with the lever (06) in such a way that the air bellows is aligned above the combustion chamber of the respective valve (6).


Ensure that the air bellows for the  assembly device (01) always correctly coincides with the combustion chamber and is pushed in the middle.
The air bellows can be pushed out of the side of the combustion chamber otherwise, and this leads to damage to the valves (6).

 Comply with the operating instructions for the  assembly device (01).

Connect compressed air supply to assembly device (01).

Open the compressed-air valve at the assembly device (01).

 Comply with the operating instructions for the  assembly device (01).
The air bellows of the  assembly device (01) presses in the combustion chamber onto the valve disk of the respective valve (6).

Press together valve spring (3), and remove conical valve keepers (4).

 Installation:
Ensure that the conical valve keepers (4) are seated correctly.
Valve (6) will otherwise detach and damage engine.

Remove upper valve spring retainer (2) and valve springs (3).

Close compressed air valve at the assembly device (01).

 Comply with the operating instructions for the  assembly device (01).

Release pressure in the air bellows of the assembly device (01).

 Comply with the operating instructions for the  assembly device (01).

Remove valve stem seal with pliers.

Remove lower valve spring retainer (5).

Perform the operation steps when removing further valves (6) in the same way as operation steps 5 to 13.

Disassemble cylinder head (1) from the assembly device (01), remove and remove all valves (6).


Do not damage valves (6).
Otherwise the valves (6) must be replaced.



Check

Check the condition of the cylinder head (1) and all valves (6), and check them for damage.

General information on checking valves, valve seats and valve guides

If there is a problem with a valve (6),



replace the respective valve (6).

If there is a problem with the valve seat ring or the valve guide on the cylinder head (1),



install new cylinder head (1).
