Remove

Remove camshaft Hall sensor.

Install adjusting tool (2) in the opening of the camshaft Hall sensor and tighten screw (3) slightly by hand.

Turn engine at belt pulley/vibration damper (1) with counterholder in direction of engine rotation and set piston of 1st cylinder to top dead center (ignition TDC).


The engine must not be turned back.
The timing chain can skip otherwise and cause engine damage.

 The 0° marking on the belt pulley/vibration damper (1) must match with marking on cylinder crankcase.

Check basic position of the exhaust camshaft.

 The marking on the exhaust camshaft must match the marking on the  adjusting tool (2).

If the markings do not match,



set basic position of camshafts.

Remove adjusting tool (2).

Remove counterholder from belt pulley/vibration damper (1).

 Counterholder

Install camshaft Hall sensor.
