1 Cover the chain slot and the cylinder head with a clean rag.
2 Assemble chain separating tool (2) and thrust spindle (3).

Proceed with the attached hold-down device (4).
3 Position chain separating tool (2) and pressure screw (3) with pressure pin on a chain bolt (arrow) of the timing chain (1) and disconnect timing chain (1).
Do not allow pushed out chain bolt to drop into crankcase.
4 Pull out thrust spindle (3), take off chain separating tool (2).
