 Engine timing - general

 Carry out setting of valve bridges (3) only if engine is cold or fully warmed through. Wait at least 30 minutes after switching off the engine.

1	Clamp valve bridge (3) in vise.

2	Release counternut (1) and unscrew setting screw (2) by approx. 3 turns.

3	Install valve bridge (3) over the guide pins at the cylinder head.

4	Press valve bridge (3) downwards against spring force and hold.

 Valve bridge (3) must be in contact with valve stem (A).
The adjustment screw (2) points towards the exhaust manifold.

5	Manually screw in setting screw (2) while keeping valve bridge (3) pressed until setting screw (2) is slightly in contact with valve stem (B).

 The valve bridge (3) must not move up.

6	Slightly tighten counternut (1) by hand.

7	Remove valve bridge (3) from cylinder head.

8	Clamp valve bridge (3) in vise.

9	Tighten setting screw (2) and counternut (1)  .

10	Install valve bridge (3) over the guide pins at the cylinder head.
