Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Unfasten starter and swivel out of the working area

 The electrical lines are not separated.

Install retaining lock

 Insert retaining lock in starter opening and engage in starter ring gear. Turn engine in direction of engine rotation if necessary.

Remove poly-V belt

Remove screw/bolt (1)

 Installation: Replace screw/bolt (1).

 Bolt, belt pulley to crankshaft

Remove belt pulley (2) from crankshaft (4)

 Installation: Place belt pulley (2) at crankshaft (4) using light rotary movements, ensure that the feather keys (4) of the crankshaft engages in the groove of the belt pulley (2).



Check

Check contact surface of the radial shaft sealing ring (3) at hub of belt pulley (2)

 Replace belt pulley (2) according to the respective findings.

Check radial shaft sealing ring (3) for damage and leakage

Depending on findings



Replace front radial shaft sealing ring

Install in the reverse order



 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
