Remove

Remove crankshaft belt pulley

Lever radial shaft sealing ring (1) out of timing case cover (4) using a suitable tool


Ensure that the sealing surface of the timing case cover (4) is not damaged.
A damaged sealing surface can lead to leaks.



Clean

Clean sealing surface on timing case cover (4)


The sealing surface on the timing case cover (4) must be free of grease and dry.
Leaks can occur on the radial shaft sealing ring (1) otherwise.



Install

Lay new radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the insertion device (2)

 The radial shaft sealing ring (1) must be installed dry.

Place radial shaft sealing ring (1) with an insertion device (2) on timing case cover (4)

Screw in screw/bolt (3) for crankshaft belt pulley until the insertion device (2) lies on timing case cover (4)

Remove insertion device (2) from timing case cover (4)

 Insertion tool

Install crankshaft belt pulley
