7 | Remove connecting rod bearing cap (4) | The connecting rods (5) and connecting rod bearing caps (4) must not be interchanged. Mark connecting rods (5) and connecting rod bearing caps (4) on one side relative to each other. Do not mix up top and bottom connecting rod bearing shells. | |
8 | Check screw/bolts for crankshaft bearing cap (2) and for fitted bearing cap (3) | ||
Unscrew screw/bolts in the reverse order of the tightening procedure. | |||
9 | Remove crankshaft bearing cap (2) and fitted bearing cap (3) | Identify crankshaft bearing cap (2) and fitted bearing cap (3) before removal. | |
10 | Remove crankshaft (20) from cylinder crankcase | ||
11 | Remove crankshaft bearing shells (21, 24) and thrust plates (22, 23) | ||

12 | Check screw/bolts for crankshaft bearing cap (2) and for fitted bearing cap (3) | ||

14 | Measure, compare and insert crankshaft (20) | ||
Lubricate crankshaft journal, crankshaft bearing cap (2), fitted bearing cap (3) and crankshaft bearing shell (21, 24). The oil grooves in thrust plates (22, 23) must point towards thrust surfaces of the crankshaft (20). | |||
15 | Install crankshaft bearing cap (2) and fitted bearing cap (3) | | |
16 | Screw in screw/bolts for crankshaft bearing cap (2) and for fitted bearing cap (3) and tighten | ||
Observe tightening procedure. | |||

17 | Install connecting rod bearings and fit on connecting rod bearing cap (4) | ||
Cold degreasing agent/cold cleaning solvent HAKU 1025-920 | |||
18 | Screw in and tighten connecting rod bolts (6) | ||
Bolt, connecting rod bearing cap to connecting rod | |||
19 | Turn crankshaft (20) and check for unobstructed movement | ||
20 | Install timing case cover | ||
21 | Install oil pump | ||
22 | Install end cover with radial shaft sealing ring | ||
23 | Attach transmission to the engine. | ||
24 | Install engine |
