Attach   dial indicator holder (02) to crankcase.

  Insert dial indicator (01) in   dial indicator holder(02) and set a preload of at least 3 mm.

Align measuring tip of   dial indicator(01) at right angle to crankshaft flange.

Press on crankshaft (1) in an axial direction to one side up to the attachment and hold.

Set dial indicator scale to zero.

Press on crankshaft (1) in an opposite axial direction to one side up to the attachment and hold.

Read off measurement value on   dial indicator (01) and compare with specified value.

 The measurement value obtained corresponds to the crankshaft end play (1).

  Take dial indicator (01) out of the   dial indicator holder (02).

Remove   dial indicator holder (02) from crankcase.
