Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining.

 Installation: Only install center and rear lower rear engine compartment paneling again after leak test.

Drain engine oil.



 Collect engine oil with a suitable container.

Disconnect electrical connector (3) from engine oil temperature sensor (4).

Remove screws (2).

 Installation: Replace screw/bolts (2).

Remove oil pan bottom section (1).

Do not drive in tools between crankcase and oil pan(1) for loosening purposes.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.

 For this purpose, screw one of used screws (2) into thread (arrow A) and carefully press off oil pan bottom section (1) and remove screw (2) again.

 Installation: Apply sealant.

Clean

Clean sealing surface at oil pan top section (5).

If oil pan bottom section (1) is not replaced.

Check sealing surface at oil pan bottom section (1) for damage.

If oil pan bottom section (1) is not replaced.

If there is a problem,



replace the oil pan bottom section (1).

Check sealing surface at oil pan top section (5) for damage.

If there is a problem,



replace the oil pan top section (5).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check engine oil level.

If necessary,



Correct engine oil level.



Perform engine test run and check the engine in the area of the oil pan bottom section (1) for leaktightness.
