Remove/install

Switch off ignition

Remove air filter housing

Remove crankcase ventilation line (4)

Remove oil filler neck (3)

Remove idle speed control actuator (M33) and place it to one side.

 Do not disconnect electrical connection

Remove intermediate flange (7)

 Connecting flange at intake manifold

Remove ignition coils (R9, R39)

Unhook cable set for actuating the injection valves from the retaining clamp (arrow) on the cylinder head cover (1)

Unclip cable strap (arrow) on closed-loop control bearing bracket

Remove cylinder head cover (1)

 Installation: Replace seals (2) and (8)
 Clean sealing surfaces

Install in the reverse order

Check that seals (2) and (8) of the cylinder head cover (1) are seated correctly

Check for leaks
