Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
Operate the engine until you obtain the pneumatic brake system's work pressure
When checking the brake regulators, keep the compressed air system at working pressure.

Chock the wheels and release the parking brake

Actuate the service brake, measure travel (a) of the cylinder rod between the released brake position and the full brake position
If travel surpasses the values it is an indication that the automatic brake regulator is malfunctioning and must be removed for repair or replacement, with separate invoicing
