The line colors of the electrical lines (3, 4, 5, 6) that are specified in the following represent the series production configuration and can be substituted with others if necessary. Please ensure that electrical lines (3, 4, 5, 6) can be correctly assigned in accordance with slot assignment.
1 | Prepare electrical line (3) for touchpad connector (1). |
Line color BKWH, length approx. 120 cm, cross-section 0.5 mm2. |
2 | Prepare electrical line (4) for touchpad connector (1). |
Line color BN, length approx. 120 cm, cross-section 0.75 mm2. |
3 | Prepare electrical line (5) for touchpad connector (1). |
Line color BK, length approx. 120 cm, cross-section 0.5 mm2. |
4 | Prepare electrical line (6) for touchpad connector (1). |
Line color RDGY, length approx. 20 cm, cross-section 0.75 mm2. |
5 | Crimp included receptacles to electrical lines (3, 4, 5, 6). |
Use basic wiring harness repair kit. |
6 | Install electrical lines (3, 4, 5, 6) into included coupling housing for touchpad connector (1). |
Slot assignment: |
7 | Route electrical lines (3, 4, 5) as shown along the broken line in the instrument panel. |
Do not kink electrical lines (3, 4, 5) and ensure that they are installed such that they do not chafe. |
8 | Secure electrical lines (3, 4, 5) in sections using cable ties to factory-installed electrical wiring harness. |
9 | Crimp included receptacles to electrical lines (3, 5). |
Use basic wiring harness repair kit. |
10 | Install electrical lines (3, 5) in included connector housing. |
11 | Install electrical lines (3, 5) in telematics CAN (CAN A) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/35). |
Slot assignment: |
12 | Crimp included cable lug to electrical line (4). |
Use basic wiring harness repair kit. |
13 | Fasten electrical line (4) to cockpit ground point (W1/6) with nut. |
14 | Connect electrical line (6) with red/gray electrical line to central operating unit connector (2). |
To do so, use insulation displacement connector. |
