Remove/install

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove front wheel



Remove/install wheels

Unscrew nuts (10h) on tie rod (10)

 Counterhold ball studs if necessary with Allen wrench.



Mount thrust piece (051) onto each ball joint



Pry off tie rod (10) using puller (050)

 Installation: Remove grease from cones and press tie rod ball joints firmly into steering arm.



Check ball joints on tie rod (10) for play and damaged rubber boots

 If necessary, replace tie rod.

 Installation: Observe installation position (conical joint with jam nut to steering knuckle arm).

Install in the reverse order

Check front wheel toe and adjust if necessary
