Remove air duct connecting piece.

Only model 638.0/1 without code H00 (hot air duct to passenger compartment)

Remove air duct (8) for rear passenger compartment.

Do not remove air duct completely (8). Refer to:

Model 638.0/1 with Code H00 (hot air duct to passenger compartment) and left-hand drive.

Remove ashtray

Detach cable (3) at transmission.

Detach cable (3) at relay lever (2).

Set selector lever (1) to position "1".

Remove retainer (4).

Installation: inspect retainer (4), replace if necessary.

Press grommet (5) out of mounting bore.

Installation: ensure that grommet (5) is seated properly at firewall.

Remove cable (3) together with grommet (5) forwards through firewall towards engine compartment.

Install in the reverse order

Testing

Check adjustment of cable (3), and adjust cable (3) if necessary.
