Modification notes
Wheel hub replacement campaign on trailer axles with aluminum rims:
The axle production area situated in Kassel has been delivering axles to trailer manufacturers since 1996.
As part of the production monitoring process it has come to light that if these axles are fitted with aluminum rims then the wheel hubs may be damaged.
For this reason PBA Kassel will write to the trailer manufacturers authorizing a service measure for 4,000 axles or 8,000 wheel hubs, whereby the wheel hubs will be replaced.
This campaign will probably be conducted for the main part in the trailer manufacturer's workshops.

Irrespective of this it must be assumed that customers will also register at Mercedes-Benz workshops to have the service measure performed. We ask for your support in this matter.
Affected are all axles up to major assembly end number
H 060836 (production up to and including March 99), which are equipped with aluminum rims.
A repair set is available for these axles through the MB spare parts organization under the part number A 000 330 03 25 05.
The repair set will include assembly instructions and a data sheet.

The removed old parts are to be returned to the plant in Kassel using the packaging case for the repair set. The filled out data sheet is to be attached to the packaging case.

(2 wheel knobs).
