Remove/install

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Remove respective front door sill.

Lift floor covering in area of left B-pillar body acceleration sensor (B164) or right B-pillar body acceleration sensor (B164/1).

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

Remove nut (3).

Unclip left B-pillar body acceleration sensor (B164) or right B-pillar body acceleration sensor (B164/1) from holder (4) and remove.

Install in the reverse order.

Check

Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system.

If the left B-pillar body acceleration sensor (B164) or right B-pillar body acceleration sensor (B164/1) was replaced.
