Warning | Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. | Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. | |

1 | Remove ignition key from ignition lock | ||
2 | Partially pull off edge guard (1) | ||
3 | Remove B-pillar paneling (2) and set aside with extended seat belt | ||
4 | Remove grab handle (3) | ||
5 | Detach check strap paneling (4) at the A-pillar from the retainer claws and remove | | |
6 | Disconnect electrical connection (5) | ||
7 | Remove cable ties (6) | ||
8 | Unscrew check strap (7) at the A-pillar | Bolt, arrestor strap for windowbag to A-pillar | |
9 | Unscrew front screw/bolt (8) of the windowbag (10) at A-pillar | Bolt, windowbag at A-pillar | |
10 | Unscrew rear screw/bolt (9) of the windowbag (10) at B-pillar | Bolt, windowbag to B-pillar | |
11 | Remove window airbag (10) | Insert windowbag (10) correctly into the mount in the roof. Do not buckle roofliner. | |
When replacing the windowbag (10), ensure proper and environmentally friendly disposal. | |||
Installation: The retaining lug (B) on the rear side of the windowbag (10) must engage into the mounting hole in the roof frame (A) for reasons of stability. | |||
12 | Install in the reverse order | ||
13 | Connect diagnostic system and perform quick test | ||
14 | Read out fault memory of airbag (AB) system and delete fault memory |
