1 | Open spare wheel cover and remove | ||
2 | Remove spare wheel | ||
3 | Disconnect rear bumper Parktronic system (PTS) connector (X35/28) and remove through vehicle floor with rubber grommet | Installation: Ensure that rubber grommet is seated properly. | |
4 | Open right stowage compartment cover and remove | ||
5 | Open cover below right stowage compartment | ||
6 | Unscrew left and right screws (3) | ||
7 | Unscrew left and right screws (4) | ||
8 | Unscrew nuts (5) | For this purpose remove cover from center nut | |

9 | Forcefully pull bumper (1) toward rear below left and right taillamps | Installation: Position bumper (1) at recess and slide toward front until it catches audibly (arrow) | |
10 | Remove bumper (1) with aid of second mechanic | Installation: Observe lateral guides on bumper (1) | |
