Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

Remove/install

Remove the fan cowl.

 Place the coolant expansion reservoir with attached coolant hoses to one side, do not remove completely.

Remove poly-V-belt.

Remove low pressure refrigerant line from refrigerant compressor (1).

Remove high pressure refrigerant line from refrigerant compressor (1).

Unscrew bolts (3).

 Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove bolts (4, 5).

 The bolt (4) is too long to pull out and therefore it remains on the refrigerant compressor (1).

Remove refrigerant compressor (1) forwards from the major assembly carrier until the electrical connector (2) is accessible.

Disconnect electrical connector (2) and remove refrigerant compressor (1) forwards and down out of the engine compartment.

Pull bolt (4) out of refrigerant compressor (1).

Install in the reverse order
